Broken To Pieces

The day started out beautiful but my body was calling for more rest with all of the rain that keeps coming and going.  I made it home from work and enjoyed the wonderful time with my grandson.  As his weary eyes closed and his head rested gently against me; I looked outside my window to see the landscaping company working in my yard.  I sat at my table with a piece of pie in front of me looking delicious and it was calling out to me.  I picked up a piece and as soon as it was in the air, I heard a crash.  My heart dropped because I already knew what happened, just from the sound of it.  The guy machine hurled a stone towards my front glass door and it smashed through the double pane glass.  Pieces were everywhere inside and outside.  The glass flew well into my living room area where my son sat at.  That glass door allowed plenty of sunlight into my home and one little stone has now taken that away.  I have to keep my front door closed now until it is replaced.  I took pictures of the entire area, called my insurance company, and then texted my husband.  The guy was so disturbed by the incident; I had to calm him down.  Accidents happen and I know it was not intentional.  I did cut my foot on the side, attempting to clean up the thousands of pieces that laid everywhere.  The guy and I took down what was left of my glass door (basically the frame) and he called to get bids on replacing my double pane glass door.  I am broken but not to pieces; for it is a material thing and no one got seriously hurt.
