For A Price - Excerpt

The horn was blaring outside; Charlene grabbed her purse and keys, and turned to tell Zeta not to wait up.  As she ran out the door, Zeta watched through the window as Charlene got in the vehicle.  Zeta was what you considered to be a so-so type of friend; the girl was cool with you as long as you and she had something in common, but beyond that she was an invidious bitch, she would use anything against you to hurt you.  There are some things you just don’t want your roommate to know about you and this is how Charlene felt about Zeta.
Charlene feelings toward Zeta were tolerant; however their relationship was not always impossible and unkind.  Charlene was sabotaged by Zeta once, the girl practically drugged and pimped her at a house party, and even though Zeta claimed not to know anything she did not apologize for her actions either.  Megan, Denita and Charlene were about thirty minutes into the drive, Denita wanted to stop to get some booze to take into the club with them but Megan insisted on eating and drinking at the club when they got there.  Megan knew how Denita and Charlene were, no matter where they went; she would have to foot the bill because her girls spent money like it was running water.
Meanwhile at the house, Zeta was combing through Charlene’s items looking for whatever she could find that may potentially be useful to her.  What she did not know was that Charlene was on to her snooping and she locked everything in a safe beside her dresser in a corner; a place that Zeta had failed to look in several months.  Zeta was fantasying over the lustful sex she encountered earlier and she had no man of her own to share that same sexual pleasure with; however, she had another plan that would be just as good in mind.
